Big Agnes - Copper Spur UL3 - 3-Personen Zelt rot/orange

This tent is nice, large, and comfortable. I used it for 31 nights while hiking the WA portion of the PCT. However, the tent stuff sack is absolutely terrible. After only 10 days, the bag completely disintegrated and became useless. I had to use my bear bag to carry the tent for the remainder of our trip. Big Agnes supposedly has a warranty to replace items that have a manufacturing defect, but apparently they expect a tent bag to rip apart after only 10 days, as they would only replace my tent bag if I paid for a new one. Consider this a large 2 person tent. I cannot imagine trying to squeeze three people inside.

Love it! I had the copper spur 3p tent that we used in previous seasons for backpacking and loved it, so when they came out with an UL version- I was sold. Absolutely no complaints. It already had a great design with a good amount of pockets on the side and above for gear storage and organization which we appreciate (and missed in the tiger wall). It also has plenty of room for my wife and I and all our gear inside. I was able to cut my pack weight without any sacrifice- what’s not to love? Have used it on one trip already with mild/moderate wind and rain and temps overnight in the 30’s-no issues with rain/moisture or condensation.

Light and roomy tent. Set up and take down is pretty simple. Very light. It went back into the storage bag very easily. The bag clips instead of zips, so no broken zippers! Lots of storage compartments. There was more room inside than I expected.

Plenty of room for me 5' 10" and 5' 2' daughter. Lots of room for boots etc, w/ packs under fly. Held up nicely against several Aug marble-sized hail-storms and 35 mph gusts. Used a home-made Tyvek footprint. Bads: orange part of fly stained grey part !?? Fly zippers are very hard to work properly from inside the tent ... on night 2 daughter ripped the outside fabric cover of the zipper for >1 ft when it caught while unzipping from inside. Fly would have leaked during rain but I patched w/ Duct Tape. In general, the zippers are too small/weak. I'd gladly carry a few more ounces knowing that those were bomb proof.
