Das Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 ist bei Solo-Backpackern wegen seines extrem geringen Gewichts und des überraschend geräumigen Innenraums beliebt. Das Zelt lässt sich dank Farbcodierung schnell aufbauen und bietet durch steile Wände und clevere Taschen viel Komfort. Die Belüftung ist ausgezeichnet, sodass kaum Kondens entsteht. Allerdings ist das Zelt teuer und die dünnen Materialien können die Haltbarkeit bei intensiver Nutzung einschränken. Auch das Aufbauen des Innenzelts bei Regen ist ein Nachteil. Insgesamt eine Top-Wahl für alle, die Leichtgewicht und Komfort schätzen und bereit sind, mehr zu zahlen und das Material zu schonen.

I purchased this tent to have a light, free standing tent to use on the Colorado trail a couple of years ago. I was fine for the first few trips, until I started above timberline sections. I one gust this past June 2 pole sections a snapped and a 10" rip tore through the fly. I contacted BA and received my 2 pole section in a liesurely rate of 3 weeks. Now I have another broken pole after a trip this week. This is a FRAGILE tent not up to Rocky Mountain conditions, unlike my trekking pole tents from Tarptent and Zpacks. This is better suited for camp grounds or your back yard.

I bought this tent as a free standing option on long backpacking trips like the Colorado trail. I enjoyed it for one year. This year I was caught in a storm with stong winds and on strong blast broke two pole sections and put a 10” rip in the end of the rain fly. It tookm about 3-4 weeks to get replacement pole sections and then to repair the rip with Tenatious tape and seam sealer. On the next trip another gust flattened it and broke a pole section. It always happens at the three way joint junctions. It is an ultra light tent which seems to mean “very delicate” - be ware!

Main use over last 15 or so years (20 approx trips) are short breaks from London of 2 to 4 nights or longer trips eh Scilly Isles (UK), Ile d'Ouessant (France) and most recently Sardinia (Italy). All by train, bus, boat and foot. Once at the site quick and easy to set up home. Time to review as maybe last trip having reached 80.

It’s smaller (and much lighter!)than my 2 person tent, but it still has a surprising amount of room. The pockets, especially the big one, ensure that the floor space of my tent isn’t needed for storage, and the geometry ensures I never feel cramped.

This is the second Copper Spur UL1 I have owned. I love that it is free standing. I’ve squeezed into so many tent sites that trekking pole tents can’t. The durability on this tent has been one of my favorite things.
