In this shoe, I ordered a 41, equivalent to a women’s 9.5. I tried the standard width in store and found it too narrow, so I ordered the wide instead. The wide felt great walking around the house, but after just a few miles on the trail, both my feet and joints became very uncomfortable. The biggest issue was the fit through the heel: my heels swam in the heel cups unless I tightened the laces aggressively, which then made the shoes uncomfortable elsewhere. I had hoped to use these for more technical hiking, but ultimately couldn’t get a secure, comfortable fit for my feet. Also the rubber on the sole was not as grippy I would have liked.

I've been looking for Gore-Tex trail shoes in a color other than white, black, or otherwise bland and was delighted to see these in their orange and turquoise glory! Even better, they come in small enough sizes to overlap with women's sizing, which is how I, a chick with size 8 feet, ended up ordering men's shoes. Order a half-size up, as they run both short and narrow; I wear a 39 in Euro sizing and needed the 39.5. They're still a little narrow, but with thinner socks, they'll be perfect for trotting around in light rain or through dewy grass.

I’m on my second pair. I trail run in Yosemite and tried other trail running shoes but they were too soft and too much flex . If you are dealing with mixed terrain lots of granite, this is the shoe you want and need .

I read the reviews and saw that they were on the small side. My US13 / EU47 fit as though they were US11.5. Toes smashed into the end, tight all across ball of foot. I am a US12 in dress shoes and for the last 10 years or so, US13 in runners / hiking shoes. I had to return to store (had used my dividend) and hopefully the ones I ordered (only remaining size, EU48.5) will fit better. Shoes look to be excellent quality, but the size discrepancy justified the 4-star rating.

I need more cushion than what this shoe offers. Otherwise, the shoe would work.
