Bought as a backup disc for photography, so the bundle of encryption software that came with it has not been used. The device worked as soon as plugged in to the new style USB port on my Mac, so no formatting needed, and no dongle / interface needed either. I like the compact size and style of the device - very light for moving from room to room without unplugging. Comes in any colour you want, as long as it is black.
