Dvd The Outlaw Josey Wales

I can't understand the praise for this bluray How come it's a stunning picture while the contrast is so dark you can hardly see faces or details. If I didn't know how clint Eastwood looked like I wouldn't have recognized him. People praises darkness which is strange.

I've been viewing this film since I was a teenager. It's gritty, real and the acting is pretty darn good. If you like the good the bad and the ugly you will like this film. The action scenes are right on and Clint as a real as it gets as Josey. Give it chance!

Family entertainment. Will add to my digital collection.

I was curating my collection, when I decided to look into upgrading the half of my Eastwood wing that's still on DVD. While I've known since 2009, the reviews here run parallel to my own likes and dislikes, I wasn't prepared for such a dramatic upgrade. PQ is bright, and shiny, with clarity I've never known for this title before. Audio ? Damn, my subwoofer was lighting up constantly. Surround was aggressive on the par of a current action flick, and this movie came out my senior year of high school ! That's 40 years ago, boys and girls. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Clint Eastwood is by far sitting atop the mountain, and is in my opinion the gunslinger to end all gunslingers. While this movie doesn't quite live up to many of the spaghetti westerns Eastwood has starred in, it shouldn't be cast aside as just another western. Eastwood is both brilliant in front of, and behind the camera during this outing. Eastwood's ability to star and direct his own pictures never wanes on the quality of both tasks. The Outlaw Josey Wales is a tale of revenge, and overcoming personal torment. Everything from the plot, characters, acting, action, to the cinematography, set design, and script is brilliant. While I believe that there are a few scenes that could have been removed to streamline the picture a bit, it certainly doesn't detract a lot from the film, and it's definitely worth watching.
