Purchased to provide a second NIC for a home lab, virtual machine with a single gigabit NIC. This worked perfectly once installing the VMWare drivers (non-official). Worked exactly as hoped and performance specs have tested to near Gigabit levels.

Worked as expected. Not sure why devices include disks anymore? Most current laptops don't have drives in them. My MacBook Air and Dell XPS don't even have an ethernet port on it, which lead to the purchase. It's just as easy to download the drivers from the website. No need to add more junk to our landfills. StarTech is the only choice for products in this realm.

Was having trouble with our newly upgraded internet; even had the cable company come out to check it out. We were paying for "up to 200mbps" download speed, and all my direct wire connection speed tests were no better than 30mbps. When the tech came out, his speeds (direct wired) jumped up to 200+, and mine were still below 70. Doing some research on my laptop, realized the MAX I would even be able to get was 100mbps (and also realizing my Ethernet card must be bad...since speed readings were dropping down even lower than my speeds over our router!), I opted to buy this. Plug and play...first speed reading of 230mbps. Consistent tests afterward...still averaging the same. This is a winner. I'm running an HP Notebook, and who ever knew that hardware supplied for the Ethernet cards on the average for these is only 100/10? Not me. Glad I was able to purchase this product. Highly recommend.

This solved the problem of trying to connect my USB PC to an older ethernet wired printer.
