I ridden every high-end clincher available over the last 25 years. While my favorite race tire is the Vittoria Open Corsa series (700x23 mm @ 130 PSI), they wear far too quickly for everyday riding and training. The Vittoria Rubino Pro III is the best dedicated training tire I have found. I usually pry them on in December and they take me flat-free through March. Decent rolling resistance, lightweight enough, and tough as nails.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE LACK OF GRIP. MY REAR WHEEL SPINS ON WET CLIMBS, AND I'VE HAD ONE NASTY FALL WHEN THE BIKE JUST SLID OUT FROM UNDER ME. MY FRIEND BORROWED MY REAR ONCE AND HE COULDN'T CLIMB OUT OF THE SADDLE ON A WET ROAD. DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS IN THE WET - I JUST WON'T USE THEM ANY MORE.

I'm shocked at some of the good reviews here. Compared to most decent multi-purpose training/racing tires, these are terrible. The ride quality is poor, cornering is awful, and they are flat prone. And heavy to boot. I'm a very experienced rider (over 20 years), and I would advise staying away from the Rubino Pros. There are much better tires out there for the same money.

I'm relatively new to the road game, but have been a Mt. Biker for 20 years. The Rubino Pro came stock on my bike and after riding them for a year/ 2-3 thousand miles, I'm very happy to say (knock on wood) I haven't flatted on them. While I can't speak of a comparison for weight/grip, I never felt them to be sluggish or under par when cornering at speed. The fact that I haven't flatted in so long is impressive. The tires are 23 in width and I run them at 120 psi. THey are finally starting to show some wear, so a buddy of mine recommended the Vittoria Diamonte Pro and 25 width. I'm going to give them a shot and at least I will start to have a comparison.

I notice that some reviewers have mentioned susceptabilty to cuts in the treads. I have never experienced this and have been using Rubinos for several years.
